Sometimes superheros reside in the hearts of small children fighting big battles

This site is a tribute to our brave little girl Darcy, who was taken from us far too early at only 6 years old. She was a true inspiration to everyone she met and will continue to change the world, one day at a time.

Please use this page to remember her in any way you would like. Feel free to write your own memory of her, light a candle or just look through her pictures to be reminded of her beautiful, beaming smile.

We are also raising money for Martin House Hospice. After Darcy passed away, we were able to spend 5 days by her side at the hospice, creating memories as a family of 4 that we will treasure forever. They treated Darcy with such care and compassion and as a mother, going through the worst time of my life, it meant the world to me to see them tucking her into her bed and talking to her as if she was still alive. Its the little things that matter when you do not have much left to hold on to. There wasn't anything the staff at Martin House wouldn't do for us whilst we were there. We were able to make memories and keepsakes and we will now be able to give Bea gifts from her big sister when she is older. End of life care is not all Martin House provide either, they also provide respite care. Every child we came in contact with had huge smiles on their faces. Their parents looked relaxed and the staff were genuinely happy to work here. The whole house oozed joy. Even though we were there for different reasons, you couldn't help but to be moved by how inspirational the whole place was.

Hello darling girl, Mummy's just been on to update your fundraising total after we held your charity day, The Darcy Cup and Family Fun Day 2019. I wish you could have seen it my darling, it was a huge success. Lots of your friends were there, along with your teachers from school and even people you had never met! They were all there to remember you and raise as much money for Martin House as we could. We had all of your favourite things, a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, stalls selling bows and raffles, glitter tattoos, face painting and lots more! And not forgetting the big football match, Team Ladybird vs Team Bee. It was a true family occasion with all of the children running on to the pitch for the last 5 mins all wearing their daddy's football shirts. You would have absolutely loved it. It wasn't the same without you but it wouldn't have happened without you either. You made it happen my big girl and thank you for holding out the rain for us too. I love and I miss you every minute of every day, but thank you for giving Daddy and I the strength and courage to do big things in your memory. I won't ever stop. All my love, Mummy x x x x

There’s one picture that I’ve been longing to receive from your mummy recently and that is the picture with you all dressed up in your school uniform, with your hair all neatly in plaits and you with your beaming smile ready to go into year 3! Oh I can still remember your first day of school like it was yesterday, you looked so little with your uniform that swamped you and your book bag that took over your whole body. I used to love the days when I could come with mummy to pick you up from school where you would bound out (maybe not as neatly as you went in) telling us what you had for dinner and what fun you had in the day. Just doesn’t feel right that isn’t happening anymore. I hope you’re having just as much fun up there now and I can’t wait for the day that you can tell me all about it. Love you always! Aunty Ba xxx
